The Mt. Makalu, member of the Khumbu region is centered in this particular trekking. Distinctive on its own this three weeks long trekking in Nepal takes us through beautiful Khumbu region of Nepal.
After your arrival in Kathmandu, you will be addressed and welcomed by representatives from Asian Adventure Trips. You will then be transferred to the hotel booked for your comfortable accommodation.
We start the day with sightseeing of popular destinations around Kathmandu valley. After the half day sightseeing, pre discussion of the trek is done in the presence of trek leader, crew and other participants of the trek. Asian Adventure Trips will delightfully brief more about the trek and your queries will be answered.
Our beautiful adventure in Nepal starts with an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar. Tumlingtar is our trekking starting point, 50 minutes of adventurous flight away from Kathmandu. We drive to Chichira from Tumlingtar for overnight stay.
Our trek starts early in the morning from Chichira towards Num. Trekking trail is moderate with a lot of sceneries around. We are welcomed by panorama of beautiful mountains throughout the way. We finally reach Num village for our overnight stay.
We continue the trek from Num village towards Seduwa village. A descending trekking trail leads us through beautiful nature to Barun River. We yhe ascend toMakaluBarun National Park area and after registration of tourist permits, we reach Seduwa village for overnight stay. Total walking time is around 6-7 hours.
We climb towards Tashi Gaon on our trekking trail. Tashi Gaon offers exciting views of Himalayas around the area. We trek for 4-5 hrs to reach Tashi Gaon from seduwa and arrange our overnight stay in Tashi Gaon.
Today’s trek is comparatively harder as we have to ascend through steep path for around 6-7 hrs. We enjoy beautiful sceneries all the way though. We finally reach Khongma Danda for our overnight stay.
After a hard trek, we take a rest and acclimatization break day in Khongma Danda. We explore the areas surrounding Khongma Danda and enjoys the Scenic landscapes.
We continue our trek with new energy after the rest day. Our trekking trail is ascending and takes us towards Shipton La summit. We pass through Kalo Pokhari, KeKe La and cross the Ke Ke La pass. Finally, a descend takes us to Dobate valley, our overnight stay destination.
Our trek today is steep and dangerous in the start from Dobate. Trek should be done under guidance and precautions provided by experienced crew. The trail slowly goes flat on reaching Yangri Kharka. Overnight stay is arranged in Yangri Kharka. Our trekking hours sum upto around 6-7 hrs today.
Pleasant valleys and pastures are what we find on our trekking trail today. 5-6 hrs through moderate trekking trail takes us to Langmale Kharka, our overnight stay destination.
We trek to Makalu Base camp today, completing the major objective of our trekking. We pass Shershong to reach Makalu base camp from LangmaleKharka. Exotic sceneries and magnificient views of Mt. Makalu can be seen from Shershong. Himalayan beauties gives us divine energy throughout the 6-7 hours of trek. We stay overnight at Makalu Base Camp.
Our beautiful day is spent today exploring the Makalu base camp area. We can observe scenic panoramas of Makalu, Everest and Lhotse. We can opt to hike to Makalu Base Camp itself or roam around to enjoy the lakes and glaciers. Overnight stay is in Makalu Base Camp.
Our Descend starts today as we move along the trekking trail. Shershong, Langmale Kharka, Merek and Yangri Kharka is what comes on descending path of 6-7 hours. Overnight stay is arranged in Yangrikharka.
Descend continues as we head from Yangri Kharka passing through enjoyable landscapes. We reach to Dobate in around 6-7 hours. Overnight stay is in Dobate.
Trek starts today from Dobate in steep trail. Our trek is around 5-6 hrs long today. Crossing beautiful sceneries of Ke Ke La, Tu Tu La and Kauma La we return back to Khongma Danda and stay there for overnight stay.
Destination today is renowned Sherpa village of Tashigaon. Trekking trail to Tashigaon is around 4-5 hours long from Khongma Danda. Overnight stay is arranged in Tashigaon.
We return back today descending from Tashigaon through Makalu Barun National park. Trekking trail is gradual and crosses different villages of this region. Further descend takes us to Seduwa village, our overnight stay destination. Our trek is 4-5 hrs long today.
Trekking continues as we head towards Num from Seduwa village. Trail is gradual and rather easy. Passing through Sherpa villages and forests we reach Num in around 5-6 hrs of walk. Overnight stay in Num.
We return back to Chichira from Num finally heading back to Tumlingtar. Majestic views of Mt. Makalu can be enjoyed from here. 6-7 hrs of trek takes us to Tumlingtar. Overnight stay is arranged in Tumlingtar.
After successfully completing our adventurous trip around the Makalu Base Camp region, we return back to Kathmandu via 50 minutes flight. Our flight continues to amaze us with magnificent Himalayan landscapes. Free time in Kathmandu can be spent in souvenir shopping and roaming around the capital.
