    Gokyo Lake and Gokyo Ri trekking is a trekking adventure in Nepal centered around the Khumbu region, home of the highest peak of the world Mt. Everest. It is also widely popular trekking route of Khumbu region in Nepal. The trek is ideal for trekkers who want to explore the tremendous Khumbu region without having to invest much time.     1. Day 01 International Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300 m)

      After your arrival in Kathmandu, you will be addressed and welcomed by representatives from Asian Adventure Trips. You will then be transferred to the hotel booked for your comfortable accommodation.

    2. Day 02 Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

      We start the day with sightseeing of popular destinations around Kathmandu valley. Aft.er the half day sightseeing, pre discussion of the trek is done in the presence of trek leader, crew and other participants of the trek. Asian Adventure Trips will delightfully brief more about the trek and your queries will be answered.

    3. Day 03 Kathmandu - Lukla (2840 m) - Phakding (2,652m)

      Our day begins with an early breakfast in Kathmandu aft.er which we will accompany you to Domestic Terminal of Tribhuvan International Airport for morning flight to Lukla(2800 m). We fly for 40 minutes exploring beautiful sceneries and mountains of Nepal. We land at Tenzing-Hillary airport in Lukla and meet our rest of the trekking crew. Trekking starts aft.er some essential arrangements and packing. We trek through the beautiful village of Lukla to Phakding. We take a short hike today as it assists us in acclimatization. However, Side trip to nearby monastery can be arranged for willing participants. We spend the night in Phakding.

    4. Day 04 Phakding - Namche Bazaar (3440 m)

      Our trek for today starts aft.er breakfast in Phakding. We then set off for a beautiful journey of around 5-6 hours across short uphill and downhill paths. Spectacular view of Mt. Thamserku can be seen from Benkar village on our way. We pass over Dudh Koshi River via several crossings and finally reach to Sagarmatha national park at Monjo. Our trekking journey continues to Jorsale, the last village till Namche Bazaar. On the way to Namche, we stop at chautara to enjoy the view of Kwangde peak and its sister peaks Kusum Kangaru, Mt. Everest, Lotse and Twache. Finally, our trek for the day ends with overnight stay in Namche Bazaar.

    5. Day 05 Namche Bazaar: Rest day

      This is the rest day at Namche Bazaar. For “acclimatization” needed during this trek, we schedule three such rest days in our trek. As suggested by health experts, we should not be completely idle during rest days. So, we opt to take a small hike to Thame or Khunde. You also have an option to rather stay at Namche Bazaar and enjoy different attractions there. Doing so, you can also learn about Sherpa culture and extend your knowledge about mountains and mountaineering.

    6. Day 06 Namche Bazzar - Phorse Village (3810 m/ 12,496 ft.)

      We resume our trek from Namche Bazaar aft.er completing the rest and acclimatization day. We move ahead in our trekking trail passing through exotic surroundings and Himalayan panoramas. The trail takes us to Sansa. Sansa is the juncture to Gokyo valley and the Everest Base Camp. Trekking trail further is well decorated with panoramic beauties of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Twoche and Mt. Khumbila. We finally reach Phorso village in around 6 hrs of walk and stay there for overnight.

    7. Day 07 Phorse Village - Machhermo(4,470 m/ 14,663 ft.)

      Our trekking destination for today is Machhermo village. We walk for around 6 hrs to reach the destination village. The village is a major village that we find on our way up to the Gokyo. We are pleased by awesome views of Cho Oyu and Thamserku Himal in our trekking trail. We then pass the Luza village and ascend towards Machhermo from there. Overnight in Machhermo village.

    8. Day 08 Machharmo - Gokyo (4800 m/15,744 ft.)

      We start today’s ascending trekking from Machharmo village. Trekking trail is gradually steep and filled with wonderful views of valleys of Mt Thamserku. Panoramas of Mt. Cho Oyu and Mt. Kangtega also comes in our sight. We then pass through Pangka and head towards Ngozamba Glacier. Lakes of Gokyo valley are now ahead of us after the steep climb. Longpongo Lake, Taboche Lake and Dudh Pokhari are the lakes greeting us with awesome beauty. We finally reach the mesmerizing Gokyo village after around 6 hrs of trekking efforts. Evenings is spent exploring Gokyo. Overnight in Gokyo.

    9. Day 09 Rest day in Gokyo Valley: Climb Gokyo Ri (5357 m/17,570 ft.)

      The day is intended for rest and exploration of the amazing Gokyo valley. This also helps us in acclimatization and relaxation. Although laying idle is never our goal. We spend the day exploring the Gokyo Ri to catch never seen before views of the mighty Himalayas of Khumbu region. We also have an opportunity of visiting the lakes of Gokyo valley. Either way, your day is well spent. Overnight accommodation in Gokyo.

    10. Day 10 Gokyo to Dole

      Completing our adventurous trekking successfully, today we head down towards Dole with easier trekking trail. We retrace our steps back through first Gokyo Lake enjoying the trail ahead of us. We cross Luza and reach Dole in around 4 hrs walk. Overnight stay is arranged in Dole.

    11. Day 11 Dole to Namche

      We continue our trek descend towards Namche today. We trek through easy yet dramatically beautiful trekking trail for around 5 hrs to reach Namche. Exploring the beautiful trail, we reach Namche for overnight accommodation.

    12. Day 12 Namche Bazaar - Lukla: 6 - 8 hrs

      The last day of our trekking adventure is still descending. Enjoying the Himalayas and in between the beautiful trekking trail we walk for around 7 hrs to reach Lukla. Picture perfect sceneries will attract us throughout the trail. The Sherpa villages, culture and traditional aspects displayed beautifully helps to create memories and summarize our trekking. Overnight stay in Lukla.

    13. Day 13 Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu

      Aft.er breakfast we set off from Tenzing-Hillary Airport of Lukla for a 40 minutes flight to Kathmandu. In Kathmandu, we enjoy rest day and conclude our amazing trip. We share experiences and memories and stay overnight in Kathmandu.

    14. Day 14 Farewell Dinner

      Before your planned return from Kathmandu, Asian Adventure Trips organizes farewell dinner for the whole trekking team including guides and porters. We share our experiences with each other and also have an opportunity to plan our next trip to Nepal with Asian Adventure Trips. As per your departure schedule from Kathmandu, Asian Adventure Trips will provide airport transport facility from your hotel.

    En-route Accommodation
    Accommodation during the trekking is arranged in en-route tea houses and local lodges. The accommodation options available during the trek are fairly clean with all the facilities available expected for the lodges of the grade. Before and after the trek, accommodation is arranged in cities at three star hotels on twin sharing on BB plan.
