Our sightseeing tour starts in Kathmandu with beautiful morning. Our destinations today includes Kathmandu Durbar square and Swayambhunath stupa. Both sites being listed in UNESCO world heritage, bear cultural, traditional and architectural wonders. The sightseeing tour continues after breakfast. We visit the Pashupatinath Temple, a holy temple and center of Hindu culture. The site is also a cremation spot where Hindu death rituals are observed. We head towards Bouddhanath stupa, the biggest stupa of Kathmandu. Bouddhanath is the center of Tibetan culture and surrounded by a Tibetan refugee settlement. The circular area around the stupa offers rich handicrafts items and traditional “Thanka” paintings reflecting Tibetan culture.
Today we head towards Bhaktapur, traditional town around 15 km away from Kathmandu. We visit the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, to view the traditional settlement of the old city. Bhaktapur Durbar Square consists of famous 55 windowed Durbar, Nyatapola Temple and ancient sculptures. The second destination is ancient Hindu temple Changunarayan. The temple is a good example of the rich Nepalese art of ancient times.
The UNESCO world heritage cultural tour ends today as return back to Kathmandu from Bhaktapur. We visit Patan Durbar Square, the last Durbar Square area of Kathmandu valley. The Durbar Square area is also rich in history and culture. We return back to Kathmandu after completing the UNESCO cultural heritage tour. Free evening in Kathmandu can be used for relaxation.
